Details of how I can help you are outlined on the Home page, with more specific information on individual pages.
In addition to very rewarding work I
did for the Citizens Advice Bureau as a Generalist Adviser, I have held a
Flying Instructor Rating, and Commercial Pilot's Licence, and taught people to
fly light aircraft. I also completed 3 years boat building training in 2003, resulting
in an 11 foot wooden sailing dinghy. One of my hobbies is photography and any
photos on this site are my own.
I have worked in various occupations, starting off selling buttons, after leaving school at 15, through a variety of others, including bank cashier, bus conductor, interior decorator,
Transport Manager for an International
Freight Forwarding company, Airfield Manager and eventually progressed to teaching people
to fly light aircraft in the late 1990's. I became a single parent, divorcing in 1994, with four children, now
adult. My eldest son and his wife live in Australia with my
two grandchildren. I believe my varied background and wide range of life
experiences enables me to help you more effectively.
I am dyslexic, and one of the reasons for the colour of these pages, is that it's easier for me, and many others with dyslexia, to read. Black on white can jangle and be hard work to decipher. My ethos is to make life easier and remove unnessary challenges from myself and others. This enables all of us to save our resources for life's real challenges. I realise this website is probably seen as old fashioned, however my aim is to give you enough information to make a good decision for yourself, as to whether you feel I can help you.
I am a member of the British
Psychological Society, the British Holistic Medical Association (BHMA) and
the College of Medicine. I originally trained with the East Anglian Institute,
gaining a Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD) in 2008, accredited by the National Council for Hypnotherapy, alongside certificates in
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Meridian Therapies. In addition I attained a
Foundation Certificate in Counselling, and a Certificate in Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy, both from the UEA, then went on to graduate from the UEA with a BSc in Psychology in 2014. I'm insured with Towergate who
specialise in Professional Insurance.
Hypnotherapy is now rightfully taking a more mainstream place in healthcare, as
people are gradually becoming more aware of the beneficial effect it can have
on their lives. It is important it continues to develop in a positive way with
due regard to the rights of clients, allowing them to trust their
hypnotherapist as they would their doctor, with normal medical confidentiality.
I attend regular CPD training (Continuing Professional Development) in order to
maintain and improve my skills and knowledge. I subscribe to 'The
Psychologist' journal, published by the British Psychological Society.
I became a Hypnotherapist to assist you in becoming happier and more
fulfilled in your own life. When working for the Citizens
Advice Bureau, I gained great satisfaction from empowering people, and enabling
them to master their diverse problems. I help on a deeper and more fundamental
level now, by employing Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy and other complimentary therapies.
